Understanding, Speaking, Reading and Writing in English Video Program

U.S.ENGLISH Foundation has sponsored the development of a 5-volume video program, Understanding, Speaking, Reading and Writing in English, written by Richard Bourel.

This comprehensive audio-video program was designed primarily for adult learners with little or no elementary English language skills. Its goal was to provide learners with English language basics and help them to progress towards English proficiency. The program’s obvious advantage is its versatility. It is suitable for self-study as well as for in class instruction, whether as a part of the main or a complimentary curriculum.

The nature of the program allows for self-paced study and unrestricted review opportunity. The student is able to watch each segment several times, paying attention not only to grammar and vocabulary, but also pronunciation and cultural references. In addition, the program includes a comprehensive review and a set of tests at the end of each volume.

Each volume set of the Understanding, Speaking, Reading and Writing in English program consists of two video tapes (approximate running time of each is about 60 minutes) and a work manual to accompany the program. The entire program, as a result, provides the student with 10 full hours of English language audio-video instruction.
