There are many ways you can help in our efforts to make English the official language of the United States. From contacting your elected officials and local media, to displaying a U.S. English bumper sticker on your car, there are plenty of opportunities for you to demonstrate your support of America’s common language.

Information on calling and writing your elected officials is presented, and we offer an easy-to-use tool for sending a prewritten letter directly to your elected Representative and to your Senators.

Display a Bumper Sticker
For as little as $1 each, you can purchase a U.S. English bumper sticker to display on your vehicle, or to give to friends and family. Spreading the word about the importance of English as the common language of the United States is crucial to keeping this issue relevant.

Gather Talking Points on Official English
Do you feel passionate about the issue of Official English? Read up on some to-the-point facts and help promote the issue in a speech at your local civic organization or your local talk radio or public affairs show.

Are you part of the 88 percent?
Take a moment to tell U.S. English where you stand on various English language issues. From foreign language driver’s license testing to foreign language ballots to a federal Official English bill, we want to know what you think.

Sign a Petition
Add your name to the Official U.S. English Petition to the U.S. House of Representatives, calling on your Member of Congress to support legislation that will make English the official language of the United States.

Write a Letter to Your Elected Officials
Even if U.S. English does not currently have a letter writing campaign running in your area, feel free to write a letter to your elected officials expressing your strong support for making English the official language of your county, state, and the United States. Letters from a constituent will often bring about a conversation on the issue of Official English and can serve to get the ball rolling on further action.

Request a Position from Political Candidates
Take every opportunity to make sure your legislators (and candidates!) take a stand on common language legislation.
