A BILL
To ensure that an employer may require employees to speak English while engaged in work.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the `Common Sense English Act'. SEC. 2. FINDINGS.
Congress finds that-- SEC. 3. REQUIREMENT OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE PERMISSIBLE.
Section 703 of title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. 2000e-2) is amended by adding at the end the following: `(o) Notwithstanding any other provision of this subchapter, it shall not be an unlawful employment practice for an employer to require employees to speak English while engaged in work.'. |
