Your "Cable Guy" May Not Be English ProficientFebruary 15, 2008
U.S. English Chairman Mauro E. Mujica appeared on WSVN-TV Channel 7 in Miami in regards to the growing number of non-English speaking service technicians being sent out on service calls. A Florida dentist is one of a growing number of Floridians who stayed home waiting for a technician to fix his satellite dish, only to find that the company sent a repairman who spoke no English at all. According to the company who dispatched the technician, they can’t guarantee that the service personnel they send will be able to speak English.
