U.S. English Audiocast - The Lee Amendment

October 23, 2009

In a recent House Financial Services Committee meeting, Rep. Christopher Lee and a number of colleagues attempted to block efforts permitting government imposed multilingualism on the private sector. Rep. Lee’s amendment to H.R. 3126, the Consumer Financial Protection Agency Act, would have struck a clause requiring private businesses to provide consumer information in languages other than English.

In this audiocast concerning this recent story, U.S. English, Inc. Director of Government Relations Tim Schultz speaks about the bill and the implications on private business.

The audio clip lasts approximately two minutes. Click on the link below to begin.
