U.S.ENGLISH, Inc. Announces Utah Ballot Initiative Has Enough Signatures

U.S.ENGLISH, Inc. is proud to announce that over 74,000 Utah citizens have signed the petition to place an initiative on the ballot in November which would make English the official language of the state of Utah. This is over and above the 67,000 signatures needed.

After politicians refused to let Official English legislation out of committee in the last legislative session in Utah, U.S.ENGLISH, Inc. went directly to the public, gathering these signatures to place the initiative on the November 2000 ballot for the citizens of Utah to decide.

Our experience in other states indicates that when given the choice directly, voters overwhelmingly support Official English.
